Tank Farm Expansion

Salas O’Brien collaborated with a skin care product manufacturer to expand the tank farm capacity for its production facility. After assessment, our team recommended expanding their storage tank room to address their growing production needs. We conducted a preliminary study to determine the requirements to meet applicable codes and insurance company standards to store combustible liquids. As a result, we installed a double-jacketed tank and a hot water system with heat-traced pipes to maintain the appropriate temperature for one of the products. We selected fiber-reinforced plastic tanks and polypropylene piping to ensure compatibility with the chemicals. We also conducted a process hazard analysis to identify and address any potential risks. The tank expansion has boosted the client’s productivity, profitability, and safety standards.
