Expanding production line to meet customer demand
San Antonio, TX, USA
Snack Food Line Facility Planning
Salas O’Brien partnered with a Confidential Major Food Manufacturer to add a new production line to meet consumer demand. The increase in SKUs and sales made it difficult to comply with supply chain requirements. The new line included a truck dump, prep station, frying, seasoning, sorting, and packaging.
Our team updated the existing 1990s building and developed a plan for its expansion. The client requested a new production line, including all required engineering, infrastructure, and equipment, to support a system that delivers 4,200 pounds per hour of raw material. The scope included flooring, wall, ceiling, building, process utilizations, and drain upgrades to support food safety in both new and impacted food production spaces.
We completed all the front-end engineering and planning phase deliverables identified in the proposed scope of services. Our engineering/design planned and performed a laser scan of the area to develop equipment layout, design for pipe routing, P&IDs set for process/pack equipment, mechanical/HVAC planning, and civil/structural planning.
