DCS Migration Configuration & Upgrade

Salas O’Brien was engaged by a chemical facility to facilitate the migration of their aging APG RS3 control system to Emerson DeltaV™ control system hardware. The project included hardware replacement and the migration of the RS3 DCS configuration to the DeltaV™ software environment, adhering to the client’s specific DeltaV™ standards.

Our team provided comprehensive services encompassing control system hardware design, programming, software configuration, and startup support. The implementation strategy focused on minimizing operational risks and reducing downtime. Key activities included translating the RS3 configuration into pseudocode DeltaV™ functional requirement documentation for code qualification during System FAT (SFAT) activities.

We executed the project in phases: Phase 1 involved migrating Utilities, Waste Treatment, and Product Storage areas, while Phase 2 targeted Batch Process areas.
