University of California San Diego Theatre District Living & Learning Neighborhood

The Theatre District Living and Learning Neighborhood (TDLLN) sets the
trend for universities creating premium mixed-use neighborhoods with
affordable rates. Salas O’Brien began by relocating existing campus utilities and
upgrading capacity.

Our unified data infrastructure connects all six buildings, the underground
parking garage, and the campus core. We ensured full WiFi coverage inside
and outside. Security is essential to the university, and made complicated
by the density. We worked with UCSD campus police to set the needed
camera coverage. We also provided tight coordination for access control
serving the different stakeholder entities. This includes campus housing,
university facilities, and parking. Despite the complexity, our design
coordination simplified system deployment for the university.
