New High-Tech Hospital

Salas O’Brien was part of an integrated team to design the Providence Care Hospital. Our team provided mechanical design services for the new hospital that combined services from  Providence Care and St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital, including physical medicine and  rehabilitation, complex continuing care, palliative care, and geriatric medicine) and Mental Health Services (Specialized Mental Health and Forensics). The 270-bed institution specializes in long-term mental health, psychiatry programs, physical rehabilitation, palliative care, and complex  care.

Our team designed the facility to include cutting-edge technology throughout the building, boosting the patient experience and staff productivity. We upgraded the facility’s security,  communication, and computer systems, including the ability to conduct telemedicine and videoconferencing appointments in patient rooms. In addition, we used smartboards, wireless laptops, and electronic patient record technologies.
