Dee Ann White Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Jared Neuroscience

CoxHealth, a leading healthcare provider in Southwest Missouri, asked our team to help find a sustainable solution to the region’s growing population’s healthcare needs. The answer to that challenge is the new, ten-story, patient tower. The new facility includes Neonatal and Pediactric Intensive Care Units (NICU/PICU) with easy accessibility to the existing labor and delivery facilities. The upper portion of the tower houses the Jared Neuroscience Center, along with clinic space for Springfield Neurological and Spine Institute physicians and Ferrell-Duncan Clinic neurologists.

Salas O’Brien provided structural engineering design and consulting for the hospital tower. This project consists of a tower to support neuroscience and women’s and children’s services. The structure includes reinforced concrete flat slab floors, columns and shear walls supported on a drilled pier foundation system. The scope includes two drop-off canopies and exterior improvements to the adjacent, existing bed tower.
