Sucrose Tank Addition

Due to increased production demands, a specialty foods and dressings manufacturer needed to improve its on-site ingredient storage for liquid sucrose. Salas O’Brien provided a 3D point cloud scan of the existing area, identified a process design issue that created high moisture under the sucrose tank, and redesigned the new sucrose tank system. Following the design, we provided improved equipment layout suggestions to maximize space. We delivered this project through a design-build approach (engineer, procure, construct, or EPC) and handled automation, controls, power distribution, and structural and civil engineering, and coordinated permitting efforts to eliminate unnecessary bottlenecks. As a result of this one-stop-shop approach, the detailed design, equipment procurement, and installation efforts were accelerated, which was crucial to the overall project’s success. Coordination between several local contractors, procurement, construction planning and administration, start-up operator training, and commissioning services resulted in a successful one-day shutdown.
