Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health
Salas O’Brien is providing comprehensive engineering, lighting, and technology design services for the Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health. It is a unique facility that will train healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurse practitioners, and others in the region to serve the community. This will be the first medical school in the eastern Greater Toronto Area and the third of the University of Toronto.
The academy will feature a clinical psychology clinic, a pharmacy clinic, a main-floor amphitheater, an anatomy lab, a 21-bed clinical skills lab, and ten case-based learning instructional labs. Approximately 300 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physical therapists, are expected to be trained annually.
