Electrical Infrastructure Expansion and Improvements

Salas O’Brien collaborated with Iberia Medical Center to expand its electrical infrastructure. After several years of expansion, the medical center needed to improve its functionality. To achieve this, we replaced the 3,000 amp and 2,000 amp “normal” power switchboards, as well as the 2,000 amp “emergency” switchboard. The project also aimed to replace the three oil-filled padmount transformers and install a 1,000 KW diesel generator to serve as a redundant standby power supply for the hospital if the 800 KW generator was out of service.

We provided a new electrical distribution system with sufficient capacity to support 20 years of future growth and expansion of the facility and minimize the impact and disruption to ongoing hospital operations during construction. Our team efficiently improved hospital infrastructure during construction with minimal disruption.
