Beach Restoration and Boardwalk

Salas O’Brien partnered with Woodhouse Tinucci Architects to provide engineering services for the Rosewood Park Beach Restoration and Boardwalk project. This project included a series of new beach buildings and a boardwalk along Rosewood Beach in Highland Park, Illinois.

The building projects total 5,000 square feet and include a Beach Reception Pavilion, Refreshment Pavilion, Restroom Pavilion, and Environmental Education Pavilion. The 1,500-foot Boardwalk along Lake Michigan includes lighting, receptacles, and other site electrical amenities. In addition, we provided the design to include provisions for two additional pavilions, an additional beach stairway landing, and a geothermal system to provide heating and cooling for the pavilions.
