Boynton Beach Chilled Water District

The City of Boynton Beach, Florida, was interested in creating a new chilled water district as part of a new urban development. Our team at Salas O’Brien developed a feasibility analysis for the city that included cost estimates for the underground distribution and a new central chilled water plant. The feasibility study provided an analysis of potential customer loads, an evaluation of the impact of low loads at start-up, and the costs associated with ownership and operation of the district.

We worked with the city to develop the chilled water service contract, including adjustments and penalties considerations. We advised on the metering solution integrating into the City’s existing utility billing solutions.

The new chilled water district was a success, meeting the growing community’s needs and providing cost savings each year.
