Airfield Fire Station at Edwards Air Force Base
The primary fire station supporting airfield operations houses the firefighters stationed at the base. Salas O’Brien provided acoustic recommendations to achieve target interior sound levels within the facility. We used representative sound levels of similar aircraft types corresponding to the noise contours provided for Edwards Air Force Base. As a result, we recommended the demising construction between spaces to achieve the sound-isolation requirements for the living areas on the project. In addition, we designed AV systems for the training room, fitness room, dining room, living room, and recreation room, in addition to a PA system and TVs throughout the space.
