Dunkin’ Park

Hartford, one of the National Baseball League’s original cities when it was formed in 1876, did not have a pro baseball team since 1952. That changed in 2017 when the Hartford Yard Goats, a Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, relocated to their new stadium in Connecticut’s capital city.

Salas O’Brien provided engineering design for this state-of-the-art ballpark. The park is in the northern section of downtown Hartford between 1-84 and 1-91, designed to create affordable family entertainment. In addition to hosting the Yard Goats’ 71 home games, the open-air facility also offers year-round opportunities, including concerts, sporting events, and corporate- and community-oriented gatherings.

The ballpark is considered the epicenter of a $350-million development that will include retail, residential, dining, and office spaces, catalyzing a downtown renaissance. As a testament to the success of this project, the award winning-stadium hosted 41 sell-out games the first year it opened and has won Ballpark Digests’ “Best Double-A Ballpark in America” four times.
