Engineering and Science University Magnet School (ESUMS)

In partnership with the City of New Haven, Salas O’Brien provided multidisciplinary engineering services at Engineering and Science University Magnet School (ESUMS). This college preparatory magnet school emphasizes STEM education for grades 6 through 12. This public-private partnership between the University of New Haven and the City of West Haven provides rigorous, comprehensive programs for children with a passion for science.

The new school incorporates model-making wood shops and 3-D printers into its curriculum. Designed as a learning lab, the building provides students opportunities to view exposed structures, rainwater drainage paths, and an onsite wetlands study area.
