Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences

The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences is one of the newest additions to the thriving arts scene in Lubbock, Texas. The building has flexible spaces like a 2,200-seat concert hall, an intimate 415-seat theater, multipurpose rooms, a restaurant, and an open-air covered amphitheater.

Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, and lighting design services to ensure a comfortable, memorable experience. Our design elements promote energy efficiency even in Texas’ extreme temperature fluctuations, resulting in LEED Silver certification.

The building’s unique features include a monumental spiral staircase and deep-set ribbon windows with a long exterior overhang and angled concrete fins to filter heat and light without obstructing the surrounding view. The hall anchors the cultural arts district and catalyzes downtown revitalization.
