YouTube Theater

The 6,000-seat YouTube Theater under the roof of SoFi stadium hosts various live events, including concerts, award shows, comedy sets, esports competitions, community events, and conferences. Salas O’Brien provided theatrical consulting, technology, and acoustic design for the scalable venue, so whether it is 3,000 or 6,000 seats, the result is an intimate, engaging experience. We designed two sets of scaling curtains that visually and acoustically scale the room. In addition, there is a 3,500-square-foot private club with 140 premium seats and 1,200 square feet of premium back of house space. The stage is 6,100 square feet and features a full tension grid to accommodate elaborate touring productions that require quick turnarounds.

YouTube Theater is interconnected to SoFi stadium to allow joint events and the sharing of production resources across both venues. In addition, Salas O’Brien designed a 4k video production system, left and right 4k LED screens, and a concert sound system that will allow many bands to leave their equipment on the truck.
