Royal Opera House Muscat Theatre

The 500-seat theatre and state-of-the-art digital media library are adjacent to the Royal Opera House, Muscat. The theatre supports concerts and theatrical productions. It is also the principal rehearsal space for major performances at the Opera House. When used for opera rehearsals, the orchestra occupies the stagehouse with the chorus in the audience area.

Salas O’Brien provided theatrical consulting with careful attention to the needs of stage productions while celebrating the architect’s aesthetic. As a result, we designed the stagehouse with 48 motorized line sets and variable acoustics for a wide range of musical and dramatic performances.
