Advanced Manufacturing Center for Excellence

Stanley Black & Decker, the manufacturer of industrial tools and household hardware and provider of security products and locks, partnered with TechStars, a Colorado-based network for entrepreneurs, to open a Hartford accelerator in September 2018, promoting 3D additive manufacturing and research to startups from across the globe. This partnership aims to have entrepreneurs from 10 startups work at the new site at One Constitution Plaza to research new additive or 3D manufacturing applications.

This fast-track project required us to make simultaneous and flexible decisions to meet the schedule, driving collaboration among the team. Salas O’Brien worked closely with the architect and owner to create an adaptable environment with flexible distribution systems for staff and evolving equipment.
