Westin Building Envelope Condition Assessment
Salas O’Brien provided a Building Condition Assessment for the Marriott to ensure efficient capital performance. This assessment obtained vital information that helped our client assess the financial cost-benefits of keeping the property versus listing it on the market. We conducted the assessment according to ASTM E2018-15 Standard Guide for Property Condition Assessments and involved collaboration with local technical representatives and consideration of tourism-focused factors to create flexible repair strategies. This building envelope condition assessment aimed to document and identify significant defects in materials or systems that could affect the property’s value over the next ten years. During this process, we interviewed property management and maintenance personnel to learn about existing problems concerning roofs, fenestration, and cladding.
