McEnery Convention Center

The City of San Jose trusted Salas O’Brien to elevate their 550,000 square foot convention center to the next level. Our team of experts came together to provide a comprehensive design-build solution that included architectural acoustics, stage rigging, electrical, lighting, low voltage, security, sound systems, and more. The $18 million project was a challenge, but our team rose to the occasion, providing three design options and bringing the final design to life with cutting-edge technology and efficiency in mind.

The result was nothing short of extraordinary. The new, open ceiling with exposed t-bar and rigging system was designed to set up and break down faster, and with state-of-the-art ventilation, sound, and LED lighting, the convention center was transformed into a modern, versatile venue. In 2018, the American Public Works Association recognized the project as the “Structures Project of the Year,” solidifying Salas O’Brien’s reputation as a leader in innovative design and construction solutions.
