New R&D Lab Building

BioMarin Pharmaceuticals has been a leader in the life science industry for more than two decades. The company focuses on developing treatments for life-threatening rare genetic disorders and diseases through enzyme replacement therapies (ERTs), including treatments for phenylketonuria, Batten disease, and Morquio A Syndrome, among others.

This award-winning new research campus is in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area and provides laboratory and office space, encouraging collaboration and innovation.

The building, designed for sustainability, uses natural lighting, modulated labs, and open floor plans. We integrated new construction with existing soils and a deep pile foundation system. In addition, we used a low-vibration design to achieve frequency limits as low as 2,000 mIPS.
