Expansion and Renovation of a Large Event Arena and Exhibition Hall
Duluth, GA, USA
Gas South District Arena
Gwinnett County taxpayers voted to fund the expansion and renovation of the Infinite Energy Center through SPLOST in November 2016. The plans for the Gas South District campus included doubling the convention center size with new exhibit space and meeting rooms, a 300-room headquarters hotel and conference center, theater improvements, and a pedestrian-oriented entertainment mixed-use district.
Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design services, including 60,000 square feet of additional space and 110,000 square feet of column-free continuous exhibition space. This space includes an exhibit hall, open parking spaces, a loading dock, a commercial-grade kitchen/food prep area, dressing rooms, additional breakout meeting rooms, and an office suite to house the Gas South District administration..
