Merck & Co., a Fortune 500 company and leading biopharmaceutical innovator, is at the forefront of medical breakthroughs such as mumps, rubella, Hepatitis B, and chickenpox vaccines. Merck Research Laboratories designed their West Coast headquarters to bolster their research and development operations in the center of the San Francisco Bay Area’s biomedical hub.

Salas O’Brien designed the shell, core, and tenant improvements as part of our client’s vision for a sustainable leading-edge facility. The outcome is a stunning state-of-the-art facility with a nine-story building featuring an auditorium with 300 seating capacity, conference facilities, and comprehensive health and fitness stores.
