Transformer Firewall Installation

Salas O’Brien designed two transformers and a fire barrier wall with tight spacing and site-specific requirements within a client’s station. Our structural and electrical teams redesigned the foundation in-house for installation after pouring transformer slabs to avoid damaging existing slabs. We worked with an outsourced vendor and client to verify the design’s structural integrity and procure all materials. The in-house design saved costs by not requesting designs from an outside vendor and using materials already available at the client’s storeroom while also cutting turnaround time in half. In addition, we provided construction support and coordination with the contracted construction team and material coordinators. We provided responsive support and troubleshooting for the design, procurement, and installation throughout the entire process of the project.
