The Cooper at Southbank

Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design-build services for the first completed building in the Southbank development. The residential development stands along the south branch of the Chicago River between West Harrison Street and the Marina City Apartments. The completed development extends the Chicago Riverwalk and centers around a two-acre park.

The 29-story Cooper building has 452 rental apartments and townhomes, retail space, and parking. Amenities include a rooftop lounge and terrace, demonstration kitchen, fitness center, co-working space, music room, spa and resident lounge, and gaming areas. The project achieved LEED Gold certification and complied with the Chicago sustainability design matrix as required by a planned development.
