Shawenjigewining Hall

Shawenjigewining Hall—meaning “The Kind Place”—is a six-story academic hub at Ontario Tech University. It houses classrooms, dry research labs, study lounges, administrative offices, and programming supporting student life, wellness, and inclusion. Key spaces include Indigenous education areas, multifaith prayer rooms, a test centre, the Office of Student Life, and the Ontario Tech Student Union.

Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, energy modeling, and lighting design services for this Design-Build project. Our team supported a wide mix of academic and student-focused spaces with integrated building systems designed for daily use and long-term adaptability. By coordinating closely with design and construction partners, we helped deliver a campus facility that balances technical performance with the student experience at its core.
