Center for Medical Education and Wellness

Designed as a unifying hub for the Schools of Medicine, Allied Health, and Graduate Studies, this facility fosters interprofessional collaboration while enhancing the student experience through immersive, hands-on learning environments. Encompassing 12,000 square feet, the Emerging Viral Threats (EVT) Lab supports LSU Health’s capabilities in infectious disease research and public health response. The Simulation Environment Teaching Hospital (SETH emulates real-world clinical environments to prepare future healthcare professionals through procedural and experiential learning.

Salas O’Brien contributed audio-visual systems design, broadcast infrastructure, and theatrical lighting design to support the Center’s emphasis on innovative education and presentation. These systems enhance simulation fidelity, enable live and recorded instruction, and create a dynamic and flexible learning environment.
