Natural Gas Compression Facility

Salas O’Brien successfully designed the balance of plant (BOP) systems to support a comprehensive Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) plant for a landfill gas treatment project. Our team designed plant systems, including piping, auxiliary process equipment, electrical systems, and plant controls.

The project included adding two new buildings, a process building for gas compression and treatment, an electrical building with distribution equipment, and an operator control room. We designed a high-pressure pipeline connecting the RNG facility to the utility tie-in, complete with a new utility tap station featuring filtration equipment, a custody transfer meter station, odorization systems, and over-pressure protection. The team optimized the siting of the RNG facility and remote landfill blower system, collaborating with subcontractors on site plans, utility plans, and MEP design for permitting. We provided construction administration services throughout the project, ensuring smooth execution during the construction, startup, and commissioning phases.
