Design of Structural Supports and International Structure Validation

Salas O’Brien provided structural engineering services for Cafe William’s new eco-responsible coffee roasting plant and the world’s first 100 percent electric industrial roaster. The project required close collaboration among many partners and attention to National Building Code compliance to support complex internationally imported components.

We designed a 5-story structure to support the Plasma Coffee Roaster imported from Germany. We required close coordination with the international team to ensure we adequately supported the equipment, and met the precise installation specifications.

In addition, we modeled the structures to confirm gravity and seismic compliance with applicable Canadian codes. We completed the project on time and on budget.
