County Renewable Natural Gas Facility

Salas O’Brien served as the Prime Engineer providing design of an innovative renewable natural gas facility for Terreva Renewables and Outagamie County. This cutting-edge facility transforms raw methane from the 450-acre landfill into pipeline-quality natural gas, serving Brown, Outagamie, and Winnebago County residents. The project tackles a significant environmental challenge, as landfill gas is 28 times more potent than CO2 in trapping atmospheric heat. By capturing methane, the third largest source of emissions in the United States, this facility prevents harmful gases from entering the atmosphere while generating high-quality renewable fuel.

Salas O’Brien’s expertise in sustainable energy solutions shines through in this project, demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship and innovative engineering. The stand-alone facility houses state-of-the-art equipment designed to convert raw methane into clean, usable natural gas efficiently, showcasing Salas O’Brien’s leadership in decarbonization and sustainability initiatives.
