At CxEnergy 2023, Salas O’Brien’s own Carl Salas and Tim Gilbert delivered a future-forward presentation titled “Climate Change, Decarbonization, and the Cx Project You’re Working on Right Now.” Their talk emphasized the significant role Commissioning (Cx) Providers play in advancing decarbonization efforts and their vital contribution to combating climate change.
Carl Salas, PE, a co-founder of Salas O’Brien, is renowned for his sustainable design expertise and his dedication to delivering exceptional outcomes for clients. With over three decades in the field, Carl actively promotes sustainability in every project and is committed to mentoring emerging engineers while advocating for diversity and inclusion in the engineering sector.
Tim Gilbert, PE, CxA, EMP, LEED AP BD+C, brings over 27 years of commissioning experience and more than 42 years in mechanical engineering to the table. His broad expertise covers decarbonization, sustainability, education, government projects, and industrial manufacturing. Currently, Tim is the 2023-24 President of the Board of Directors for the Energy Management Association, a premier global organization of Certified Energy Management Professionals.
