Arc Flash Hazard Analyses
Salas O’Brien has been conducting incident energy and arc flash hazard analyses for the electrical systems supporting the Atlas V and Vulcan programs at CCSFS Space Launch Complexes since 2013. In 2019, we were awarded studies for ULA facilities at VSFB Launch Complexes.
Our services include inspecting field devices, reviewing electrical distribution drawings, and evaluating short circuit current and incident energy data during our analysis. We use SKM® System Analysis Power Tools for Windows (PTW) to conduct a short-circuit analysis and a Protective Device Time-Current Coordination Analysis to improve coordination and minimize arc flash hazard exposure.
Additionally, we conducted arc flash hazard analysis in accordance with IEEE 1584 and NFPA70E, and have placed arc flash hazard labels on electrical equipment as part of the final report.
