MEP and its offices in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma expand Salas O’Brien’s offerings in the Midwest and Oklahoma and add a team focused on delivering technical excellence in campus utilities, geothermal, energy modeling, commissioning, and other engineering services for a variety of clients in education, government, healthcare, and more.

I am so excited to have the MEP team join Salas O’Brien as new employee-owners. Their highly technical knowledge and outstanding reputation for client service are such a good fit for our team. Our past collaboration has revealed a true likeminded spirit. Now, as part of one Salas O’Brien team, we can serve more clients with an even greater depth of experience and build an outstanding future together.

MEP will continue to be managed locally by its current leaders and will adopt the Salas O’Brien name after a transition period. The transaction closed on November 15, 2019, and news of the merger was shared just after the close with the MEP and Salas O’Brien teams.

Joining the Salas O’Brien team brings so many benefits for our team and clients. As our leadership team considered the future, we were looking for growth—but not just any growth. We knew we needed to find a firm with the same values, vision, and excellence in design and sustainability, not to mention one that wanted us to maintain local decision-making and project accountability. We’ve found that and more in the Salas O’Brien family.

MEP joins Salas O’Brien as the fourth merger in 2019. Salas O’Brien’s unique approach to mergers keeps local leadership in place while taking advantage of a unified brand, expanded service capabilities and nationwide collaboration.
