Project Scoping Assessments

Salas O’Brien provided comprehensive engineering and technical services for a central National Park Service (NPS) project, completing 29 Project Scoping Assessments (PSAs) across multiple sites. The team conducted thorough condition assessments, produced detailed technical reports,
and provided accurate NPS Class B construction estimates. These PSAs covered various projects, including cultural landscape rehabilitation, shoreline stabilization, and facility renovations for maintenance, ranger, and visitor centers.

At Great Smoky Mountain National Park, our team assessed the demolition and replacement of visitor centers, amphitheaters, and maintenance compounds. The scope encompassed hazardous material investigations, site utility design, and construction of consolidated maintenance facilities. We also evaluated historic structures, including mansions, and homes. We detailed PSAs enabled parks to make accurate funding requests and develop comprehensive scopes of work, streamlining the NPS’s project management process.
