Julie Hofferr, an Automation Lead at Salas O’Brien for the past 15 years, leverages her experience in electrical engineering and automation in her role daily. Starting as a programmer, she advanced into a role where she now leads a team that transforms complex code into real-life solutions.

In this spotlight video, Julie discusses what inspired her to pursue a career in engineering, highlights a project she looks back on with pride, and offers advice to women entering the engineering field.

Automation to me is really neat. The idea that you write something on a screen and then you take that to a facility and you’re controlling cans going down a line at a certain speed or filling a tank with water or milk—we’re providing a solution for a client.
