DPB Engineers joins Salas O’Brien, broadening engineering services for the healthcare sector

Salas O’Brien announced today that California-based DPB Engineers has joined the company. This further strengthens our services to the healthcare sector and creates a combined firm of more than 55 offices with over 1,550 team members and 370 registered professionals.

The DPB team’s capabilities and portfolio complement Salas O’Brien’s existing electrical engineering work across North America. The merger increases our combined team’s ability to provide comprehensive, integrated, multi-disciplinary engineering services.

As the next step in Salas O’Brien’s strategy to be local everywhere, with international resources, the DPB team will continue to be managed by its current leaders and will adopt the Salas O’Brien name after a transition period.

The merger closed on June 1, 2022, marking the fifth company to join Salas O’Brien this year.

We designed the electrical systems to LEED Platinum standards for this new 455,000-square-foot hospital, supporting a new seven-story medical patient tower, a 28,000-square-foot central utility plant, and 1.75 MW of energy servers.

This state-of-the-art medical office building features express check-in kiosks and about 40 exam rooms with the new medical technology including “smart chairs” capable of measuring weight and fully reclining into exam tables.
