Maine-based Allied Engineering has joined the company. This expands Salas O’Brien’s presence in New England and creates a combined firm of more than 85 offices with over 3,350 team members and 600 registered professionals.

The Allied team’s capabilities and portfolio complement Salas O’Brien’s existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering work across North America. The merger increases our combined team’s ability to provide comprehensive, integrated, multi-disciplinary engineering services.
As the next step in Salas O’Brien’s strategy to be local everywhere, with international resources, the Allied team will continue to be managed by its current leaders within the existing office in Portland, Maine.

Patrons Oxford Insurance new corporate headquarters
The two-story office building features plenty of light, flexible work and meeting spaces, and a fitness area with lockers and showers. The building uses mass timber framing with some structural steel reinforcements—and has a photovoltaic rooftop array that will provide up to 40 percent of its electricity needs.

These issues spurred the college’s largest private fundraising campaign yet, engaging 424 donors to renovate the 110-year-old space.

This was a complete renovation of the second-floor core area including HVAC and utility infrastructure replacements and upgrades. We also replaced the entire steam heating system with high-efficiency condensing gas-fired boilers and duct-mounted hot water heating coils to create a four-pipe hot water/chilled water system.
