Tim Gutman, is presenting at the International Maintenance Conference on Tiered Maintenance Strategies at 2:00 pm EST on December 18th.

This presentation has vital information for those balancing an aging facility portfolio against a stagnant maintenance budget. Learn how to implement a Tiered Maintenance (TM) approach to maximize maintenance resources while improving the reliability of critical assets. TM categorizes facilities to allocate maintenance resources based on the impact to the organization’s mission. TM accounts for variables such as User Demand, Mission Need, Schedule Impacts, Redundancy, and Future Mission need. Tim will share key strategies to effectively implement and perform TM for your organization.

Tim Gutman, Reliability Engineer, CSP, PMP, CPE is deeply experienced in aerospace system safety, failure analytics, equipment reliability, and O&M optimization. His current focus is on Criticality and TM strategies across NASA locations. Tim, a Florida native, began his career in the US Army and Emergency Services. Since 2001, he has delivered engineering services, maintenance analytics, and asset management consulting for government and commercial aerospace infrastructure stewardship. His efforts reduce cost, increase efficiency, and boost mission readiness for complex systems and one-of-a-kind national assets. Tim serves as a Vice President and Program Manager at Salas O’Brien.

When it comes to triaging aging critical infrastructure, we first prioritize assets that support the highest mission requirements. With shrinking annual federal O&M dollars, it’s essential to address those needs first. Deferred care for less mission-critical assets is carefully planned, tracked, and managed to mitigate risk while ensuring long-term sustainability.
