University of Texas at San Antonio RACE Training Facility

The two-story Roadrunner Athletics Center of Excellence (RACE) at the University of Texas at San Antonio is a state-of-the-art training facility designed to support student-athletes and provide the community with advanced wellness and recreation spaces. It features all-sport team areas, including locker rooms, an equipment room, sports medicine facilities, coaches’ offices, team meeting rooms, a weight room, athletic administration offices, and academic spaces.

Salas O’Brien’s provided acoustics, sound isolation, noise and vibration control design. We designed the structured cabling, video surveillance, electronic access control, and intrusion detection.

Our audio/video design included coaching video, video conferencing, sound masking, and timing/scoring for halfcourt basketball, along with distributed AV systems for background music and information.
