Toilet Paper Roll Line Upgrade

Salas O’Brien worked closely with an international consumer products manufacturer to upgrade toilet paper production and packaging lines. We thoroughly audited the existing line to determine which equipment and hookups should be reused or removed due to wear. Our team designed and engineered the complete upgrade of an outdated line to a full converting, packaging, and palletizing system. The size of the new equipment required a taller ceiling, so we worked to raise the facility’s roof. To deliver efficient controls for the system, we upgraded the Human-Machine Interface (HMI), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and Input/Output (IO) points to the current standards. Our engineers worked closely with the construction installation partner and the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to successfully install palletizer, casepacker, heatshrink, depalletizer, and conveyor equipment. We also provided mechanical designs for the process piping layouts for glue, water, and compressed air lines. Thanks to our expertise, the client has a modern production and packaging solution for efficient toilet paper manufacturing.
