Creating flexible environments for the future of healthcare education
NASHVILLE, TN, USA
Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine
Salas O’Brien provided design services for Belmont University’s new medical education facility that supports emerging technologies, evolving healthcare delivery models, and future growth. The building includes flexible lecture halls and learning studios, complemented by advanced simulation environments that incorporate virtual and augmented reality to enhance clinical education and training.
Our team helped create spaces that support collaboration, hands-on learning, and immersive instruction while accommodating changing academic and healthcare requirements. The facility also includes a dedicated Tennessee Healthcare Hall of Fame, recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to healthcare across the state, as well as a 350-space underground parking garage.
The project supports Belmont University’s goal of achieving Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation through a partnership with HCA Healthcare’s Nashville-based TriStar Health system, which will provide clinical rotations and residency opportunities for future medical students.
