State of Vermont Capitol Building Technology Assessment

The Vermont General Assembly hired Salas O’Brien to analyze the existing audiovisual (AV) systems in the State House and the adjacent office building. The goal of the analysis was to assess their current state and provide recommendations for future improvements. Our team conducted an exhaustive survey of the existing systems, as well as the existing infrastructure and building architecture. Because the facility is historic, it was important to gain a very thorough understanding of any limitations that preservationist might impose on the upgrade recommendations.

Salas O’Brien provided a cohesive technology assessment, which contained both a thorough overview of existing systems as well as recommendations for new systems. Our team looked at cabling and connectivity, system controls, security features, and emergency communications systems. Recommendations provided an overall vision for design that was phased over an extended period of time.
