Soy Processing Facility

Salas O’Brien partnered with a global leader in agribusiness to provide design and engineering services for a greenfield soy and texturized soy protein concentrate facility. Our experts optimized systems for receiving, storage, prep, extraction, and advanced processing of soybeans and soybean coproducts. We also lead the design of specialized utilities and incorporated systems such as tank farms, cooling towers, boilers, and HVAC to support the facility’s operations. We coordinated design with two major process system original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for protein concentrate and texturized protein. Additionally, we engineered and designed systems to cGMP standards in the processing and packaging areas of the facility and delivered state-of-the-art advanced pressurization and humidity control systems. To optimize production, we installed a new facility-wide Rockwell PlantPAx automation system, from design and specification to testing, commissioning, and startup.
