Shipyard Building Feasibility Study

Salas O’Brien performed a high-level preliminary structural feasibility study of the existing prefabricated metal building. This study assessed the seismic effect and upgrade requirements based on the anticipated changes and modifications.

The proposed modifications included adding a new door/partition at the center of the building and potentially adding a large new multi-bay door. Other improvements were made to the electrical, structural, and fire suppression systems.

The challenge with this project was its tight security shipyard environment. Despite the stringent security measures within the shipyard environment, the project was completed within the requested time frame
