Saint Raphael Campus Bed Tower Commissioning

Salas O’Brien partnered with Yale New Haven Hospital, providing commissioning and building envelope services for the new campus bed tower on the Saint Raphael Campus. The campus includes a neuroscience medical research and treatment center and two patient towers—the Sherman Tower and the McGivney Tower. With 214 inpatient beds, the project is the biggest of its kind in the state’s history. The patient towers were designed with a focus on functionality and convenience and will feature a shared entrance and main lobby on the first floor. The second floor will be dedicated to neurosurgery and radiology spaces, ensuring quick and efficient patient care. The third floor will house caregiver spaces and mechanical equipment room for the towers.

Our commissioning team will verify all systems and equipment in the new buildings are functioning correctly and meet performance standards. Building envelope services will focus on optimizing energy efficiency and envelope durability.
