Ron and Erma Hawkes Centre for the Arts

Salas O’Brien has partnered with Diamond Schmitt Architects to deliver mechanical, electrical, lighting, technology, and security design for the new Ron and Erma Hawkes Centre for the Arts in New Brunswick. This facility will be a thriving community gathering place with flexible spaces for diverse programming. Its Regent and King Streets location makes it a major downtown focal point.

The venue will feature two theatres, one seating 850 and another seating 300, both sharing back-of-house, backstage, and loading rooms. The new facility will host a variety of events, including touring acts, ballet, Broadway shows, concerts across all music genres, and performances by local arts groups. Sustainability is central to the project, which aims for net zero carbon and a projected 18% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
