Premises Liability Slip and Fall Evaluation

Salas O’Brien provided forensic engineering services following a slip and fall incident at a fast-food restaurant. Our team analyzed video surveillance and deposition testimonies to reconstruct the event, revealing that the staff mopped the floor eight times less than five minutes before the accident. We determined that the floor tile met building codes and lacked adequate slip resistance only when wet, while the plaintiff’s footwear and hurried gait contributed to the fall.

Our comprehensive investigation identified eight unobstructed sight lines to wet floor signs, demonstrating that the plaintiff was adequately warned. By providing scientifically valid analysis and expert testimony, we empowered the client with clear evidence, ultimately enhancing their understanding of liability and improving safety protocols within their establishment.
