Packaging Line Upgrade

Salas O’Brien provided process engineering and design services for a major food production facility, upgrading five packaging lines with new X-ray inspection systems. We used 3D laser scanning, thorough field verification, and vendor-coordinated modeling to provide a transparent, interference-free equipment integration plan. We identified that three out of five packaging lines needed new bagger takeaway, metal detector, and pull-nose reject conveyors. Because these modifications required additional space, we relocated and adjusted downstream equipment and structural columns to accommodate the changes. For the remaining two lines, we relocated existing metal detectors and installed new X-ray equipment. Our team delivered a fast, accurate, and minimally disruptive solution within a tight shutdown window.
