OSD Manufacturing Area for Potent Compounds

Salas O’Brien provided engineering and architectural services to construct an oral solid dose (OSD) production facility for potent compounds and DEA-controlled substances. The facility required a building addition designed to accommodate production requirements and shell space capable of supporting several new future production operations.

This project was the facility’s first OSD and potent compound production operation. Our knowledge of pharmaceutical industry design standards, codes, and regulations was vital in executing a successful project that accommodated the commercial-scale manufacturing of various OSD products and included a design that would allow for future growth.
