New Water Treatment Plant

Salas O’Brien provided electrical, instrumentation and controls, and construction support engineering services for the City of Cornelia’s new 4.0 million gallons per day (MGD) water treatment plant, replacing an 86-year-old facility. Our team designed advanced electrical systems, motor controls, a backup emergency generator, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) integration to ensure reliable operations.

The scope included power distribution for raw water pumps, super pulsator clarifiers,
chemical feed systems, and a 2-million-gallon clearwell, with seamless coordination for instrumentation and automation. The project improved water quality reduced manual intervention and enhanced operational efficiency by delivering operator-friendly controls and real-time monitoring. Our team’s expertise supported the city’s sustainability goals, ensuring a resilient and compliant water supply for future generations.
